The objective of the activity is to discuss the findings of the Global Competitiveness Report (GCR) 2007-2008, and the Albania’s position regarding the Competitiveness indexes. The GCR represents the flagship publication of the World Economic Forum in Geneva, for nearly three decades. Over the years the GCR has served as benchmarking tool for business leaders and policy makers to identify obstacles to improved competitiveness, with the goal of stimulating discussion on strategies to overcome them.
Since 2004 into the report has been introduced the Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) which takes into account the latest thinking on factors driving competitiveness and growth. The GCI represents a highly complex and comprehensive index for measuring national competitiveness based on its microeconomic and macroeconomic foundations.
A more detailed and careful assessment of the Albania’s features and factors behind will definitely bring out suggestions for improved policies and measures.
